Nathan, Jonathan, Julie, David. |
was born in Goshen, Indiana in 1985. I spent my childhood in the small town of Winona Lake with my parents and my older brother.
My father's business brought us to Nashville when I was ten--Dad needed a bigger airport within driving distance and all that. I spent my childhood in the suburbs. In fifth grade, my dad gave me my first copy of Dreamweaver and the gift of a domain extension; I have been making websites ever since.
I went to high school at MLK. At first I didn't like it. It looked like a big basement. I wrestled for three years and played soccer for four.
The summer before my junior year, I completed an internship at Sync-Logic, a web and media firm. I returned later for another internship and also interned with Sitemason, a group of web developers that support a content management system; Diving Board partnered with Sitemason in 2007.

I began studying journalism at Belmont University in 2004. NPR has been a great influence. Programming like This American Life inspires me. I'm a fan of Wall Street Journal among other things on the print side.
Nathan as a news intern at Nashville Public Radio where he completed around 50 stories in 2006. |
At the end of my freshman year at Belmont, I began to invest more in my website solutions company, Diving Board. My sophomore year, I was a residential assistant and got people in trouble when they had candles or played music too loud.
I cultivatied my love for writing and story at the student paper where I did various things till my Junior year, when I served as online editor of the Belmont Vision. During this time, I experimented with telling story across media, using tools such as photos and video.
In the summer of 2006, I was a news intern at Nashville Public Radio and wrote around 50 stories. Check out some of my writing. I also am trying to write a piece of fiction, which I have found is a passion.
I am set to graduate from Belmont in May, 2008. I hope to continue to work as a story-teller and/or web designer in some capacity, perhaps in Nashville, but those are just my plans. We'll see what happens!
